Hi, everyone,
I have several camellia japonicas, all babies. I am looking for an upright, narrow evergreen no more than 8 ft tall. Sasanquas were suggested and I wondered if any of you know of one that shape? I prefer, red, then white, then dark pink, and pale/medium pink is last. Hope you can help me. Brandy |

| I would recommend the sasanqua 'Daydream' -- a strong, fast vertical grower with thick foliage. Blooms are white with pink edges. Keeping it pruned to 8 feet will be up to you, and it will get there pretty quickly. |

| I have really been happy with the look of Kanjiro. Its grown surprisingly fast and has shown a great tolerance for all day sun. It is covered in flowers for weeks. The habit is more upright than any other camellia I have. Here it is from November 28 last year.............

| That's very attractive, gaalan, and I like the shape. Amazing that it will take full sun where you are! That's a very handy trait to have. The nursery I order from does not carry that one, but I will keep it in mind if I don't find something I like at the nursery. Thanks, Brandy |

| I love my Kanjiro, too - at least, that'w what I think I have! The rootstock from a grafted white took over, and I know Kanjiro is often used as a rootstock for grafts. There are actually still a couple of branches of the white left, so I get the color mix of flowers when the shrub is blooming. Have several other white Sasanquas, so I decided to let the red stay. - Steve |

| What a nice variety- red and white on the same bush! Brandy |

| I'm looking for a fragrant camelia with this growth habit (at least 6 ft tall, dense and not very wide). I'd be very grateful for suggestions. I found High Fragrance mentioned on the thread discussing fragrant camelias but I'm not certain that it has the correct growth habit to work well as a privacy hedge. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions or direction you can share. Please also let me know where I might be able to find the variety you recommend if you have that information. |
