Your favorite japonica?

I'm planning a trip to Camellia Forest nursery (camforest.com) soon. I'd like some suggestions for winter bloomers. I would like some that are moderate in size- 4 - 5 ft wide x no more than 8 ft tall. I really like red singles w/ yellow stamens, stripes, or maybe a creamy off-white, exotic yellow? (I don't care much for pink.) So, suggest away... Thanks! Brandy

a nice red that blooms in late winter is 'don mac'. it has the color and form that you like. has been slow growing for me and only 4.5'tall after several years but is sited in a woodland and likely stressed from root competition for water from the surrounding trees.
this photo is from early march and, depending on the weather, some flowers will open in february.
'lady clare' might be another one to consider.
many photos of camellias with descriptions can be seen here:

Check out Camellia Japonica Les Murtaugh. It looks like a double formal pepermint stripe bloom. I think it just has to be my favorite. Ibartoo
