Has someone the camellia 'Daikagura'?

I want to compare the camellia 'Ortigueira' with the camellia 'Daikagura'. 'Ortigueira' is in full flowering in October. Thank you.

"Grown in Japan at least as far back as 1788 and probably well beyond, 'Daikagura' is considered one of greatest of all time. It is certainly one of the most variable. medium to large in size, peony form in style, early blooming; it is usually described as bright pink splotched with white, but in the specimen I photographed in California, this coloring was reversed, to great effect. Yoshiaki Audoch suggests the photographed bloom is that of 'Daikagura variegated' which I was not familiar."

The plant that I grow in America and know as Camellia japonica 'Daikagura Variegated' appears to me to be the same plant that you are calling Camellia japonica 'Ortigueira'. My variety has also been referred to as 'Ward's Daikagura'. I am posting some pictures that I took today of my plant & blooms below. It begins blooming in September and is in full bloom in October and November.

If you're looking for a mail-order source for _Camellia japonica_ 'Daikagura,' you'll find it available from a number of good camellia nurseries. Camellia Forest Nursery in Chapel Hill, NC; Nuccio's Nurseries in Altadena, CA; and Bob Wines Camellia Nursery in Ocala, FL, all have 'Daikagura' available. Check the Camellia Forest Website.

I just looked at our 'Daikagura' camellia, which is in full bloom. Our 'Daikagura' sport is named 'High Hat.' About half of the light pink 'High Hat' has reverted to the parent plant's variegated form. There's also a japonica named 'White Daikagura,' or 'Joshua Youtz,' which is an early blooming white, but I think it may not be a sport of 'Daikagura.'

Already I found information. Other fans put 'Ortigueira' as synonymous of 'Daikagura'. It is in the book of the Collection of Camellias of the Deputation of Pontevedra. I presented the doubt in this one Forum, precisely for the camellia " Joshua E. Youth ".

This one camellia also is called 'White Daikagura'. In the documentation, it appears as a hybrid inter-specific double of Camellia japonica:
(Camellia japonica ÂDaikaguraÂ x Camellia japonica ÂNobilissimaÂ) X (Camellia hiemalis 'ShiragikuÂ x Camellia japonica ÂNobilissimaÂ).

But I have many doubts, because these varieties are all of form peony or anemone. To obtain the hybridization is necessary that seeds are born. Seeds are born in flowers peonies, anemones or pink form is very rare. I do not know any case.
