Nicky Crisp looks very sick, why??

I planted Nicky Crisp one year ago in a very large container. I have taken what I would call good care of it. It gets a little bit of sunshine in the morning and late afternoon. I keep it watered. Only place I fell behind was I forgot to feed it in August with Osmocote. I look at it almost everyday and two days ago when I looked at it most of the leaves were looking very sickly. Today all of them do. The soil is moist. We had a heat spell about 10 days ago but even then it didn't dry out. I guess one of the diseases has attacked it for an unknown reason? Any hope for this one or way to avoid a repeat when I buy another one? Thanks much!!

Is there a chance that you are overwatering? In a pot, it would be real easy to drown the roots. That's the only thing I can think of other than disease. PB |

I wouldn't think you could drown roots in a container that had good potting soil. I do water well probably every few days in the heat of summer. Thanks for the ideas. Ginny |

| You probably have been over watering. Another possibility, is that during your heat spell all of the Nitrogen was released from the Osmocote that you have been using as fertilizer and the plant has a bad case of fertilizer burn. |
