I would be grateful for responses about what went wrong with this Japonica - image on the Gallery.
All seemed well until it was about to flower.
It responded similarly last season.
My searching suggested to me that the trouble might have been due to out of time fertilising. Thus this season I tried to follow the rules. I did place home made compost around it not long before it came into bud.
It is located close to two other Japonicas, which were treated in the same way. Neither reacted in the same way but flowered quite well.
