Best tree to underplant with camellia japonica

Decided to create this thread, since I cannot find answers or info by searching. My backyard is 110 ft deep by 120 ft wide and south facing. What are you planting your japonicas under? Pine trees are out and I'm leaning towards Nuttall, since they have the nice size and seem to provide a shade that isn't too dense, such as a Red Maple. Thoughts? Have the landscaper coming out Monday to map things out and wanted to have a few choices. Thanks!
