Photos of Camellia blooming in Rhode Island

My Snow Flurry is starting to peak. It's about 10 years old. It's been pruned back somewhat to shape it but still a respectable size. I just thought it would be nice to post a few photos.

Typical branch with lots of buds

The whole plant. Tends to spread so I prune it a little

I hope this will encourage my fellow New Englanders to try some hardy Camellias.

Just great! I want one of these too! 10 years old? How tall is it?

Dave,
It's about 3½ feet tall by 6 feet wide. This one has a spreading habit rather than really upright. I prune it every year to encourage bushiness because it tends to be a bit leggy. I prune using the 50/50 method since it blooms on old wood. That way I get flowers every year. It is rock hardy here so you should have no problems whatsoever in that respect.
