The winter is not over yet. Doesn't look too good for many of my broad-leaved evergreens!

Dave,how r your camellias doing?Mine r looking sad no blooms this year,I think it will take 2yrs to recover if we don't have another winter like this.Steve

I finally found a reference that says how tall this camellia gets (8ft tall, 5ft wide at 13 years).

BTW, no damage at all on mine from this past winter.

I got a lot of burn on many of my camellias. Some worse than others.

Many of the more exposed plants had dried up flowers. So very little bloom for me this Spring.

Crimson Candles and Pink Icicle were the worst. All buds fried. Much foliage on Crimson Candles gone, and maybe some dieback. Perhaps because it's more delicate with smaller twigs.

The ones with viable buds in my yard include:

Spring's Promise - (only about 1/4 blooms survived),
RL Wheeler var.
Betty Sette
Jerry Hill
Gov. Mouton
Turandot
a few blooms on Prof Sargeant (maybe 20%)

RL Wheeler var. was a surprise as this one got the brunt of the cold west wind with little leaf burn and most buds are viable. Amazing.
