sasanqua vs. early blooming japonica

I've been desperately searching for a red blooming sasanqua like Yuletide to put in a container by my front door, which is north facing. But, I'm not sure if any of the nurseries will have any in this year, they are still trying. :( The guy at the nursery also suggested a japonica Bob Hope variety (but he made it sound like it was a sasanqua). I took a look today at them and there are many buds on them, but I'm wondering if that's only because they just came from the greenhouse. My Western Sunset Garden book indicates the Bob Hope variety blooms in early spring in my area (Seattle/Tacoma) and I want a winter blooming variety. Any suggestions or words of advice?
