If You Could Only Have Five

If you could only have five camellias, what would you choose? I am partial to pinks and formal doubles. Here is my list:

Pink Perfection

Joe Nuccio

Nuccio's Pearl

Pearl Maxwell

Sea Foam

    I would start with:
    Alba Plena
    C. tunghinensis
    Pink Perfection
    Glen 40
    Eleanor McCown

Then I would choose 15 more different ones and give them to my three neighbors to be planted near the boundary with my house. Hee hee hee..... I know, I know, it's cheating. Oh well.

    Hikarugenji
    Coquettii
    Shôwa-supreme
    Nuccio's pearl
    Nuccio's jewel

with ten, it would be easier...

    Happy xmas.

    'magnoliaeflora' (originally 'hagorama')
    'white-by-the-gate'
    'c.m. wilson'
    'rose dawn'
    'taylor's perfection'

of the ones i currently grow, i would pick these.
i might select others that are out there as i see them up close but the ones listed above would certainly rank high on my list as favorites.

These five Camellias, they are some of my favorites. When we buy several camellias, for our garden, we have to of worrying that his flowerings, do not take place (are not produced) at the same time. It is good that it is alternated, his colouring flowering, during the autumns months, Winter and Spring.
    Regards.

It is very hard, just like which five Beethoven's music are my most favorite ones. Let me try:

    1. Bella Rosa sport or Bella Jinhua( with attached picture), I am able only to put one picture here. I do not konw how to put others together here.
    2. Ruta Hagmann
    3. Putuo Purple Light
    4. Suzhou Emboidery
    5. Sahosing Wine (fragrant, large single flower)

Here is 'Suzhou Embroidery'. a small size formal camellia flower. From a distance you only see yellowish glow at center of the flower. If you close up, you will see the yellowish petal vines. The outer petals are white.

I really like Camellias1_roses2 's choices of Dr. Clifford Parks, Magnoliaeflora, Lady Vansittart, Ville de Nantes (assuming this has a good red/white mix & good fimbriation) & Yume. I would only change his choice of Yume (albeit a lovely camellia) to Night Rider- a gorgeous dark red single which also has lovely red new growth & even red roots! I think NR belongs on everybody's list.

Impossible to pick only 5 and really mean it, but at this minute, I think my choices would be some oldies but goodies:
    'Governor Mouton'
    'Otome' (AKA 'Pink Perfection')
'Professor Sargent' (if it's a true red, and not orangey)
    'Comte de Gomer'
    'Alba Plena'

I like a lot of the camellias others have listed also.

And I will hit 'Submit' before I start with 5 runners up!

My most floriferous camellia is Bob Hope- red w/ yellow centers. I think I have Lady von Sittart also but she is a baby yet. I have a couple others, but, so far, none w/ as many flowers as Bob Hope.

    2) RL Wheeler var. (spring)
    3) Tama Americana (early spring)
    4) Jerry Hill (mid-spring)
