Air layering camillia

I've air layered 10 stems that are shooting from side of my camillia and removed most of their leaves.I used spagum moss soaked in root starter by MG and used press& seal wrap.(I'll add foil over them as I cook up baked potates) I scrapped the bark to green& dusted half with hormone besides the moss soaked root starter. I could not find post from last year or didn't use the right "keywords".Someone layered theirs similarly last year and did like 100 cuts& most made it.I don't rember when he checked for roots if was 4 months or 6 months.Does someone remember or can bump& link the post back up.

Also.My PH has risen since I last tested. Its gone from a 6 to a 7.I'd like to know if should drop it back down& how.I normally keep cow manure& pine needles at roots, but did use rabbit manure last year( was free was 5 yrs old& all I could& can haul)My tree is bloooming later too.Its not in bloom yet,but bud colors are peeking.
