Check w/ your local garden centres.

I was surprised to find out that our local gravel pit sells topsoil. They screen it and when I went to check it out I found it was a nice sandy loam and not as much clay as the local garden centers topsoil. It was cheaper than the local garden center too-about half the cost and I was able to get more yardage delivered than the garden center was willing to bring. I use compost and the two made for really great beds last year. Maybe you live near a gravel pit that also sells topsoil. Good luck.

The waste managment site gives top soil away in our area free.And then in the summer free mulch.
