William Dam is good. They have a decent selection and their prices are good. Dominion seeds on the other hand have a good selection but are expensive. Some of their prices are right off in left field which makes me wonder what reality they are living in. Vesey's is good too. I suppose it depends on what you are after in specific. If it is heirlooms you want then there are specialized companies that deal in only heirloom and/or organic seeds.

I also get: Stokes, Lindenberg Seeds, Johnny's, Thompson and Morgan, Jelitto's, Botanus, Plants of Distinction. Used to get Park's but I found their germination was awful, same reason why I don't order from T&M anymore, but their catalogue comes early (like September) and its pretty! Also used to get Gardens North but they stopped publishing a print catalogue last year. All of these places (as well as DS, Vesey's and William Dam, have websites). Not that it helps, but my fav was Patrick Studio - now closed.

What kinds of seeds are you looking for - perennials, herbs, tropicals, natives? There are a lot of really good small companies that are very specialized, but if you're looking for more mainstream stuff, Vesey's, William Dam and Stokes are some I've happily used. I love Richter's for their fantastic selection of herb seeds. Their plants are overpriced in my opinion (they're very small), but they have a lot of hard to find stuff. I also do not like Thompson & Morgan - they have a pretty catalogue, but very low germination rates. They're also overpriced. BP

I grow heirloom plants and have gotten catalogues from some of the suppliers listed here: http://www.seeds.ca/rl/rl.php I really enjoy ordering from The Cottage Gardener (who attends seedy saturdays)

alexg, just out of curiosity, how do you like ordering from Johnny's. I like their selections but its the $75 phyto... certificate that I found prohibitive... Ianna
