I found a great selection of pepper plants at Jean Talon Market 2 years ago. At the time I wasn't even looking for seedlings but the selection was so plentiful and healthy that I .... errrr...couldn't resist.
I bought red jalapeno 'Super Chili' & green jalapeno 'Milta'. It was late in the season so I transplanted them into large containers which gave me plenty of red & green jalapenos which lasted me throughout winter into spring/summer.
I wasn't planning on adding hot peppers to my garden so I didn't notice if Habanero peppers were available (but I'm pretty sure they were). I didn't even know what half the varieties were ... BIG choice.
Anyway ... while using my Super Chili's that spring while cooking I thought I'd try a germination test with some seeds.
They sprouted and gave me healthy plants in my garden last summer. I think the green & red jalapenos cross pollinated because I had both on one plant from the seeds. Dunno!! Strange but Yay for me!! LOL
Very slow to mature those pepper plants ... so my word of advice would be ....
if you're going to grow them from seed start early!!
I hope the Jean Talon Market continues to supply such wonderful seedlings. You won't be disappointed.
