It does look similar. They must tell by the genetic code though. I can't wait to see what other plants they can grow now that this has been a success. And don't forget our Arctic area is melting - it will be interesting to see if they can find any seeds in any of the core drilling scientists do. Very exciting stuff.

I read that story too. Now we know why seline is such a prolific seeder. It sprouts all over the place no matter how cold the winter. I love the flower so It is one plant i seriously deadhead

I've read about that and it's truly amazing. So with climate changes there are chances we will get to see more ancient plants come to life. I recall a story about a lotus seed discovered that was thousands of years old (but not nearly as ancient as this new discovery) and they managed to grow a new plant out of that seed.
