Haven't ordered their windbreak trees, but did order two of their dwarf apple trees a few years ago. They were well packaged and roots wrapped (bareroot in moist peat moss and then plastic) and the trees have done well. They shipped them about the first or second week of May.

Have you got a service group in the city or closest town that is selling bundles of trees for a good price?
Ask around if your county or township is supporting a Private Land Stewardship Program in which trees are made available by the bundle. Here in central Ontario, in our township, Birch is available for 10 per $18.00, White Cedar 10 per $6.75. Red Pine 25 per $19.50 this year. They are 2 to 3 year old stock.
I can grow white birch tress suitable for transplanting in two years! Yes, from seed!
I do know your location mountainman & it seems reasonable there would be private reforestation program there!

Very good idea with reclamation-type trees, shouldn't be hard to find that sort of thing here, you're right!
