How to tell the difference between species of Mountain Ash

I would like to know if there is a good way to distinguish between European Mountain Ash and American Mountain Ash in the winter time. We are moving into a new house and there is a Mountain Ash in the front yard and we would like to know what kind it is. It still has berries on it. We live just south of Calgary in the Chinook zone.
