Snowdrops and Aconites blooming

My snowdrops and winter aconites have been blooming for several days now. We got slushy rain yesterday and more rain today, but I don't think that will deter them. Only a little bit of ice left to melt in the yard where the dogs pack it down. I won't remove any mulch yet (too early) but I've been doing some preliminary stem pruning of perennials. At this time of the year, I don't trim anything too closely to the ground, and don't touch the woody herbaceous perennials like butterfly bushes. However, doing a bit of pruning and tidying up now means less work later when I'm busy with other garden chores.
