They are saying the last frost date for our area is May 6. I don't know if that will be true.
Should I be starting my Montreal melons seeds now or wait. Also how would you start them?
Any advice would be helpful, thanks. |

| No harm starting one now in a peat pot so when the ground is ready all you need to do is to pop the plant in, peat pot and all. (also it willneed a hardening process before transplanting) Ianna |

| thanks I planted 8 seeds today and saved some to plant later. I made my pots from thin cardboard. I don't like using peat pots. |

| I made cereal box cardboard pots for them, because I don't like using peat pots.Put them in a plastic pastry tray, with peaty soil. Then I put them on my light stand and tried to keep the temp up. Have only watered once since planting, so hopefully I will not overwater them. I have a bag of bunnie compost set aside for their garden bed. |

thanks, I have a couple of seeds left so may try them again. They are probably too old now but I won't lose anything by trying them. :) I hope you have success and get lots of melons! :) |
