I planted white dutch clover in my lawn because there were so many bare spots and even though I spread grass seed and top soil it constantly petered out. The clover is very vigourous and certainly has filled in the spots but it grows higher than the grass so needs cutting more often. Solved one problem and created another.

We have clover in our yard and in the surrounding fields. It is extremely hardy. The main thing I was concerned with was bee stings. Bees love it! If nobody there has allergies to bee stings, I would go for it. When DH was spreading it, he accidently (on purpose I think) got some in my flowerbeds. It is a b*** to get rid of once it takes off!
