A Rose Tree

I was given 3 Rose Trees last fall. Their name is Royal Bassimo. They appear to be coming along quite well after the winter. Could someone please tell me if I should remove the little shoots that are coming up at the ground level. Will these take strength from the top? Any other advice would be welcomed.

    The answer is yes. These are likely appearing below the graft union and therefore these are shoots belonging to the root stock and not the bassimo itself.
