I don't know what cultivar my false spirea is but it sends up runners everywhere. I have had it for about 8-9 years and the last few it has really multiplied. It is better in an area where you don't mind it expanding. On the other hand you can dig up the new plants- they will have roots and put them somewhere else or give them away or donate them to a plant sale like I do.
