I grow it, and count on it being hardy. But danged if I can remember when it comes up.
But it's early days yet, and if your eremurus could stand the flooding, agapanthus should too. At least, that's my prediction and I'm standing by it.
I planted a new white agapanthus as companion to my blue one last fall, so I'll be looking for that soon.
...Once the snow leaves.
I also tried Agapanthus 'Back in Black'out in the field, but don't know if it is hardy enough for our winters yet.

Hey Zuni: That's life down here in the banana belt. The long gardening seasons make up for the floods. But not the rednecks who wrecked several of my shrubs and newly planted trees last winter with their snowmobiles. Sometimes I'm glad we get so little snow-- fewer opportunities for the BillyBobs to trespass and mow down my garden.
