agapanthus anyone?

Today I was out surveying one of the gardens that suffered from the creek flood in February. Lo and behold, the Eremurus are alive and well. I thought for sure they'd be rotted and gone after being underwater for two days.

Anyway, the subject is Agapanthus. The Agapanthus bed was also underwater in February for a couple of days. There are no signs of life. They were divisions from varieties that had proven hardy in our area. The plants were tiny when they were planted out in June of 2008 but they were thriving when winter hit. I had mulched them, but the flood washed that away so they haven't been covered since mid-February.

I've never grown Agapanthus before. Can anyone tell me if they're late to emerge? Should I hold out hope or should I be starting more seed-- for plants that I'll bring inside next winter.
