The only place that I know where you can buy species Lewisia is Beavercreek Greenhouses. I've posted their website. They also sell a number of hardy cacti. They are an excellent supplier and send beautiful plants.

I do have Pediocactus simpsonii but I live in a Zone 5 out East.

Jeff, I bought my 3 Lewisia in Kamloops at Canadian Tire (North Shore) but that was about 3 years ago. I have one in pastel pink that has just finished blooming and which I can probably split next year, if you would like a donation. Another hasn't bloomed yet this year but looks healthy. The third has bit the dust, I think.

Took me a while to figure out how to grow these properly. I would now make a point of planting them on a dryish slope in my well watered garden. They will tolerate some shade but have to have really fast drainage...but if you're specializing in cacti and succulents, you are likely better set up for that than I am. I love the unusually showy flowers so it was worth the learning.

Just let me know if you would like a division....Another Kamloopsian.

Thanks for the information. The Lewisias here that have done the best are on a slope.

And thanks for the offer, but I'm good. In fact, my wife found six (L.c. 'Little Plum', which I already had a few of - see the pic above and L. c. 'Little Peach') at a nursery in Vernon, so I planted five and gave one away. Then, just this past Sunday, I found three more (unnamed but what the hey) at Art Knapp's - I've yet to put these in the ground.

All I need is more Lewisias, more rock, a stronger back and more time and I'll be in like Flynn.
