You could save them and start them next year. If you have a lot of seeds, I would try a cople now just to see what happens...Last year the warmest part of the summer was late August and ran wellinto September. I could be wrong, but it might just be worth a try...to see what they are..martha/zucchini....i am sure you will get bettr advice, i tend to take chances and experiment..

you can start them now, it's not too late.They will catch up with those small plants, sold now in garden centers. Just plant them directly to their place, bcz any transplanting delays fruits formation.Sow dry seeds. Make hole about 1cm deep, water it, put a few seeds and cover with soil. Any covering with glass/plastic will be helpful as nights are still cold. When they pop up, leave 1 plant on spot.
If you want to prolong their life,consider making some kind of shelter for them for fall. We usually have first frost in the beginning of Oct, after that weather is good for a month or so. If you cover them on that cold night, they can live much longer.

NattyD, tomatoes seeds should be kept in room temp., in paper envelope. They will be good for up to 3-5 years (assuming they were fresh when you bought them).I am not sure about chilling them. They are tropical plants, do they like to be that cold for a long time?

You will LOVE these Tomatoes.I tried them for the first time last year and they were fabulous,not too large and very, very, tasty.I am growing them again this year and I can't wait to eat them.
