Crocosmia question

I ordered this spring crocosmia bulbs from Veseys and received them all dry and covered with mold. I washed them, soaked and planted in the garden. It's been about a month ago. There is no sign of any life yet.

I'd like to ask gardeners who have experience with crocosmia: is it normal for it to take that long to sprout or it's dead? I was looking for it so long as it's not very common in the stores and what a disappointment!(and waste of money too as Veseys is quite expensive)

Or maybe I'm just not patient enough?
