Coreopsis does well in full sun. It's about 8-12" depending on the variety. I like it because it is long flowering and drought tolerant. There are some nice short campanulas/bellflowers out there. I have one called Royal Wave and it is about 6". There are some nice sedums out there as well as heuchera, hostas can be planted in shade. Dianthus are lovely plants ranging in height from 6" -1'. Miniature iris are always nice. They range in height from 4-15" and come in a variety of colors and are now available as rebloomers, I have Forever Violet and she rebloomed for me sending up 2 stalks in Sept. You can also get some miniature daylilies. These are just a few ideas. I'm sure you will get a lot more. Good luck. Marg

Thanks so much Marg. I have Hostas, dianthus, coral bells and a beautiful baloon flower.
I have coreopsis on my wish list along with a couple of other different hostas. I woyld like to have a blue one and an orange marmalade.
I have never seen miniature iris so will have to check them out.

Hi Pat, I'm really close to you, down at Tuckers Corners. When the weather cools a bit I'll be digging some coreopsis plants and a sedum that I could give to you.

lavenders, creeping phlox, coreopsis, coreopsis moonbeam, thrifts, dwarf irises, to name a few.

Many species of the following are under 30 cm.
Aetheonema, Allium, Anemone sp. Aquilegia, Aubretia, Campanula, Claytonia, Crocus, Cyclamen, Dracocephalum, Gentiana, Geranium, Gypsophylia, Hepatica, Hypericum, Iris, Linum, Lupinus, Oenothera, Omphalodes, Penstemon, Phlox, Potentilla, Primula, Pulsatilla, Salvia, Silene, Thymus and some ornamental grasses. There are many!

Try silver beacon or red nancy lamium, tradescantia, catmint, artemesia, miniature roses, lavender, bergenia, anemone, autumn joy sedum, or any sedum really, plus some herbs like chives and rosemary.
