We have some Japanese irises, at least that's what my husband says. They are tall, slinky, and bluish. When they are done flowering and if I clip them back to the base, do you think they'll produce more flowers this year or am I dreaming?

Hi Claubill, I love these irises and have started collecting them. This site should answer any questions.M

I treat mine like other iris. I clip the flower once it is spent, and let the plant rejuvenate itself over the summer. Alas, personally, I have not had any reflower within the year. They are beautiful when they are in bloom though, and they seem to come earlier than the other iris.
