garden colors

Has anyone else noticed that flower colors are brighter or that they have changed colors altogether? I was working around the garden this morning and noticed that my purple lupin is a brighter shade of purple and my Jacobs Ladder is now more purple than blue. I wonder if that is due to the weird weather we've been having? Marg

It's possible but who knows. I haven't seen any difference in my garden.

Hi Marg.
I think it can be due to the weather.That is interesting.I have nothing in bloom yet and I can't wait.Few years ago I noticed my all flowers got beautiful bright colour and since then I do not have any clue why was that.It was a cool summer.The biggest change in colour showed pink Hardy Hibiscus 'Rose Mallow' then.I am surfing Internet now for any explonation.So far without results.

I have noticed that hot summer weather seems to cause my blue flowers to fade to a more reddish hue. I don't have much blooming yet though, so I haven't really noticed a difference this spring.

It's actually more to do with the amount of light. I've been reading about an article about blue shades when I learned of this.
