If Alpacas are anything like Llamas in diet and digestive system, their droppings are AWESOME for gardens! Are you friendly with your neighbor?

Where I used to live, a farmer had some. I really like them.

One kid used to go tease them over the fence until one day one of the alpacas approached. As the animal approached, the kid kept teasing, and then all of a sudden, the alpaca spit in the kid's face!!! I don't think I stopped laughing that day!!

My brother has two of these for pets...and they are really loving and intelligent. One of them was pregnant...I can't wait to see the baby.
When you pat hem...they make a humming sound. I wish I could have a few of my own.

And they supply one of the only 'fertilizers' that is 'garden ready' verses other types of manures that need some serious 'cooling time' to compost - otherwise those other types will burn the roots & stems of our plants. Talk about a garden friendly pet.......wish I had your neighbours (mystery garden)/relatives (msjean) - lucky ducks you both are!

Great pics MG. Alpacas are so cute! We just bought a farm and our neighbour raises them. One day we were out in the field planting a tree and the dog started to bark. I looked up to see what she was barking at and saw a woman coming across the field with her 2 daughters and an alpaca on a rope! We had a nice visit but I was hoping that not all the neighbours were going to bring their animals over to visit! marric
