Eucalyptus vs Garry Oak contrast

This eucalyptus (probably E. nitens) is growing rapidly by the Garry Oak. I sometimes wonder if eucs are the fastest growing trees in BC. I like the silvery blue that is not easy to capture on camera. But the deep green of this Garry Oak contrasts with the euc's foliage.

Eucs are easier to notice during winter months as deciduous trees clear the view for the broadleaf evergreens. Some gardeners plant them for scent, leaf colour or water restriction (saving) purposes. A few locals grow them from seed. Some eucs have two forms of foliage on the same tree as it ages into maturity.
