Are they sprouting? I'd be inclined to plant them now, perhaps in pots and let them grow this season. Maybe for winter you can either store the pots in a cool room or else grow them indoors as a houseplant. If you do plant them in the ground it might depend on how much growth they can get in before the end of the season. In that case you can just dig them up and store for winter, at this stage you have nothing to lose.

At any rate, I don't think they would survive until next spring in storage, they would probably keep trying to sprout and then run out of energy and perish.

I can agree with Glen on this point. It's not hardy and should be taken in. And like he said, it's unlikely to survive winter in its bulb state. So plant them out right away in pots. Don't let it get to dormancy. Keep them potted with intention of taking them in as houseplants and then when the season warms up, pluck down the plant, pot and all in a hole in the bed. Easy and instant garden.

I planted my cannas , they came up just great. I had them in my greenhouse. Last night it went down to minus 10, they took frost. The tops are dead. What can I do

Being tropicals they don't do well in unheated greenhouses. They may still be alive though. Check the corm for damages. If alive, take it indoors in a warm place until it's warm enough. It could still produce new shoots.

the rhizomes should be fine. I usually leave my cannas in the ground until frost kills the tops. Brush aside the soil on top and take a look at the top of the rhizome. As long as they feel firm, you can be pretty confident they will resprout.
