Very nice, indeed. I love Montreal for its diversity in architecture and art. Now, if only I could find a nice model draped in red hose for my garden. :)

I believe that the ground cover used in that garden with the concrete spheres was some kind of Sedum.
Most exhibits didn't have any name tags for the plants.

Thanks. From the photos I thought they were a form of creeping junipers but you are correct. They seem to be sedums.

I grew up in Verdun and now live in Rigaud and every year have great intentions of doing lunch in the old port. A couple of years ago we brought our bikes in for a ride past Habitant '67.

A bike ride is definitely the best way to go.
I like the hilly roads around Rigaud, St.Lazare & Hudson, and also north of the river, in the Oka and Deux Montagnes area.
Its a bit of a long haul from Rigaud to Montreal's Vieux Port, but you can drive to Ste. Anne de Bellevue, park there, and bike the wonderful Lakeshore road all the way to Lachine, where the bike path starts, that takes you all the way to the Old Port.
I wouldn't recommend doing that on the weekend though -- too much traffic on the bike path.

Jaro, I was in your city earlier this week, as part of a 3-day tour. Too bad we couldn't stay long in the area but from what I can see - Monreal is a fabulous city. The people are more artistic in their approach to gardening and the public gardens, from the containered plantings to the larger gardens are soo inspiring. I spent more time photographing displays than photographing buildings.
