perhaps you need to approach the cacti & succulent forum for this. Since it's an indoor plant our outdoor climate will not be an issue in this case. Lighting does however. I own some succulents like echeverias (and it doesn't compare I know) and I keep them under flourescent lights for 12 hours daily all through winter. They still do look poorly. In cold climates, our tropical plants do go into a form of hibernation in which case, they do look poorly but recover when the days get longer.
