New Echinacea Varieties in Toronto?

Hi Everyone,

I just joined after having lurked for many months and I was curious if anyone in the GTA has seen any of the new Echinacea varieties for sale? I've found all of the Big Sky series, Tomato Soup (my current favorite), Mac n Cheese, and Tiki Torch, but I was hoping to find some of the newer Terra Nova varieties such as Firebird, Flame Thrower, and Hot Lava. I believe I recently read a posting from a member in BC and s/he found one of these newer introductions that I'm looking for. Has anyone seen these for sale in the GTA?

Dave, I might be the BC'er :o) who bought the newer varieties of Echinaceas. I'm on Vancouver Island, the nursery where I bought mine Phoenix Perennials is on the mainland, sorry it's not mail order I know this isn't much help but I did pick up Flame Thrower at one of our local garden centers last week, so they should be starting to trickle into your garden centers soon. The seed on these new varieties will not come true so I have been deadheading mine to help beef up the plants.

Some of the new ones are available at Gardens Plus in Peterborough. They do mail-order.

Thanks to both of you! I didn't realize I had any replies as I didn't get any email notifications. I'll check out Gardens Plus since it's somewhat close to me.
