Eucalyptus seed harvest example (BC coast)

Some of you are now harvesting figs along the BC coast so that means that many eucalyptus trees have seeds. If you notice a tree you like it's easy to collect seed and grow your tree. There are many kinds of euc and the most tender grow in Victoria or the nearby islands.

Eucs may flower in fall and some carry seed pods all year. They are planted in Victoria because of their smell and resistance to drought & deers. Saanich, BC is an excellent place to find eucs.

Do not plant eucs close to a wall. A palm will be forgiving, not the euc. The wood burns very strong if you make firewood. Florists like the leaves. Fast growing even in a very dry El Nino summer.
