Silver Mound Question

Hi everyone!

You always have the answers to questions and I have one for you.

I grow these little gems along my front beds as a border but by Sept. they always get sort of grungy looking and I end up cutting them back,but by doing so I am left with just branches not foliage and then lose them over winter..how do you folks keep them looking sharp?

Any advice would be appreciated. Brenda

Brenda,

I used to have the same issue with these so decided to cut them back a bit earlier in the season to keep them in their mound shape all season. Giving them a bit of a trim in early/mid July keeps them nice and fresh looking.

BUT, don't trim back late in the season. When I did this in the past, I lost most of them.
