Malva Ruby Regis

I've been collecting seeds from my Malva Ruby Regis. Once it's dried up, under the dark cap, there's a whole bunch of little seeds. What about the cap itself? Are those seeds or is it just a cover to protect the seeds underneath it?

I have both Zebrina and Mauritania Malva. Whenever I collect the seeds, I only collect whats under the cap and throw the cap out. I never even thought there might be a use for the caps. Most malva do reseed though. They stay short the first few years and then get taller-i've had some reach 5-6'. I also pull out the older ones and keep the young volunteers because I don't like them to tall. Marg

I have just moved to a new home, not a new house but new property for me.

Working on garden beds the past month Seems much more work than it was ten or so years ago But all is coming along. Slowly but will be nice next spring

Any chance you might send along some of those malva Ruby Regis seeds. Be glad to pay postage.
