All those plants are growing in full sun and receive 8 hours of sunshine.

We had a frost a few weeks ago and it killed most things. The malva made it thru tho. It's flowering very well. I also have 3 containers that are under the roof overhang so they were saved from the frost. Both the Bolero marigolds and blue lobelia are still flowering. The other container has Bullseye geraniums in it and they also survived.

Annuals blooming still..geraniums and nasturtiums, and a couple of zinnias. Perennials..cimcifuga racemosa...very late this year, and a couple of mums that I shoveled in last year after their time was up in the pots. Still a wee bit of colour in the beds. Thankfully, there's always sedums...

My 'Keri Blue' dahlia is still blooming and we had a few inches of snow last week! The sedum is blooming, aster and calendula too! While we did have quite a bit of snow for this early, we have not had a really hard freeze yet, just a couple of light ones.

For me Hydrangeas look good as do the anemone. What is very attractive and not mentioned so far is the toad lily

I have a few Dahlia that are good yet as they are sheltered and Brugmansia that is budding now, but just to late unless the frost does not hit here in Barrie for maybe another two or three weeks. Brugmansia seem to like the cool wheather.

It's nice to see that many of you still have a lot blooming in your beds and containers. Garden season is not over yet! The best time to plan your fall garden for next year is now. Make some notes right away of what and where you'd like some colour for next fall. Put the notes somewhere where you won't lose them, such as a notebook. Any other garden plans for next year can be put in the book as well. Sometimes, I jot down some plant combinations that I think might work, or make a note to move a certain plant because of a colour clash, etc. If you want to eliminate a plant from your garden (for whatever reason), make a note of that, too. I pot up plants for two different plant society sales in May, so throughout the year, I keep two lists of which plants are going to which sale. Otherwise, in the spring, I won't remember which plants it was that I decided to donate.
We had a hard frost last night. Many perennials are still blooming great, such as the mums, arctic daisy, physostegia 'Vivid', and Allium 'Ozawa'. You just have to love a plant that continues to bloom into November in this zone.

We've already had our first snow, but on my balcony, I have some autumn crocuses that are starting to bloom. There are also saffron crocus and sternbergia lutea bulbs that have sprouted and that I'm hoping will bloom before it's too late.

Despite freezing temps and light snow cover, my Mei-Kyo mum still looks attractive with its little double pink flowers. All my other mums are definitely done for the year.

My Helleborus niger 'Josef Lemper' is just starting to bloom. ;)

I have that flowering in the garden after an early (Nov) freeze. There are flowers and plants in Victoria almost every day of the year. I used to walk around during a winter freeze to see what stayed green or bounced back. Rhodos are really trusty. They can easily flower in full winter. In two months Vancouver will probably show lots of signs of spring. There are many amazing gardens in Vancouver. They are a must see for every Canadian gardener. Lots of great gardening ideas.

Two seeks ago Helleborus hybrid was blooming. I'll have to move some snow this weekend to see if the next buds are opening.
