What are the chances my tubers will be OK in the spring?

I've read in this forum (many times)about how you should store canna tubers for the winter. I had about 15 pots of them on my deck this past summer and they were beautiful. Unfortunately, I only made it to the step of digging them up. I never rinsed them or stored them in anything. I threw them all together in a 3 big pots and have left them in a semi-heated room (not as warm as the rest of the house, but not freezing). There are still a few green leaves, which are small and don't seem to be actively growing.
Is there any chance that if I stick them all back into soil in the spring and water them that they will do well? Or should I throw them all out and start over?
Also, I have several varities that are all mixed up together. Any advice on that?! LOL.
Thanks in advance.

| One of the guys I work with said his mother used to mow the cannas over with the lawn mower. She'd pull them and store without washing them off. I would be more owrried if you pulled them from outside too late. I live in SE Wisconsin which is also considered zone 5. I was really busy in Fall and we had a late frost. I had things which still needed to be pulled that I hadn't gotten out of the ground. I ended up getting them out after several snow falls and they looked fine. I think that if the ground would have been frozen it would have been a different story. Although this would give you an excuse to buy more cannas! I would only purchase varieties you don't already have. If those tubers are still firm you should be okay. |

| As long as they don't get soft, black, and mushy, they should be fine! |
