I started mine this year on jan 1. I scarified and popped them in a glass of water. Changed the water once a day. Used warm water. Six of the 16 seeds have germinated, and today put them in little jiffy pots. Another batch i sowed directly into peat pots after scarification. Four of the 8 have sprouted. These i placed on a heat mat.

If more sprout, i will be happy. If not, its been a nice diversion and i know they will grow. Next is to unpot and chop the rhizomes from last year, they were stored in the basement. Going to use bigger pots this year, and limit them to one rhizome per (gallon) pot.

Oh, btw the ones i germinated were yellows and speckled orange-yellow. I have some white ones that were put in water a week ago.
