Cannas from seed questions

Hi all,

I received some canna seeds in a trade and have planted them in plastic trays with miracle grow potting mix. The seeds were then placed in a mini greenhouse and placed on a heating mat in my breakfast nook. Granted its not the warmest room in the house, but with the heat matt thought I would be okay. Its been over two weeks now and I see nothing sprouting..

Did I do the right thing? Did I plant them in the right potting mix? I would appreciate receiving any suggestions.

Thanks,

Peaches

I believe you need to 'score' or scarify the surface of the seed until you see the 'white' beneath. Then soak overnight in water, then plant. Keep the temp near 80 degrees inside the mini greenhouse.

Or just let them sit in water till they sprout and them plant them. SHould take about five days...
