I don't know if I was suppose to but I took a couple out last weekend and potted them up, gave them just a little drink and put them in my west window. But i'm clueless,just figured I would try it, my own little test I guess.

It's probably a bit early yet. If you have a warm, sunny window to start them in, eight weeks ahead of last frost should be plenty. I try to wait until mid-March, but it's hard to be patient!

Yep Tom you can go ahead and bring them out of dormancy if you can promise them a sunny window.I did a couple of my favorites this weekend to ensure they make it thru the winter.

I potted them up mid-March last year and it was so rewarding...they grew really quickly (I actually measured their growth a few times and found they grew a cm in a day usually). I'm getting antsy to pot mine up, too!

I had intended to plant mine right after Christmas however did not get around to it.
Will be doing so this weekend as I purchased a big pot and have soil thawing out (was in garage)
However this will be my last try - these particular rhizomes have not flowered for me for the last 2 years.
SO hopefully this year.

i was hoping to get alot of things started this week - but it snowed 8 inches in a week ! oh boy, is spring ever going to come ? i have so many ideas and projects to start in the garden ! i'm going to wait another week then put them on the southern sill - they have already poped up out of the peatmoss !

I haven't started yet, but, today is the "ides of March" so surely it must be time soon. Now....to find a space.
