Last year we had a miserable cold spring that really set back all my canna's. They got quite a late start and never really got going they way they have in the past. I grow most of them in one raised bed along with a hardy banana and other tropical looking plants.

I was thinking of building a very temporary green house out of plastic sheeting and with light lumber or pvc piping in about march to see if I could get the bed warmed up and started early this year. I use a thick layer of leaf mulch to get them through the winter so i was thinking of removing that in a two stage process after the "greenhouse" was up.

Has anyone tried such a thing?
