strange question

This may seem like a strange question but, can you take canna tubers in your carry on bags on the airlines? I am flying from Michigan to Florida and want to take some of my cannas to plant there...just don't want to have any problems at the airport!

RE: strange question

I would just mail them to yourself in Florida (or a friend there) first. Easy and no probs.

I would also wash off all the soil completely first, just to be sure you don;t bring anything.

If I were to carry them on, I would wash them clean and put them in a plastic bag.

good luck!

Just thought I would report back...took the cannas in a plastic bag in the carry on bag, and no problems at all!

RE: strange question

Why do you want to take canna to Florida? They are like Texas, consider canna a bit of a pest. As a matter of fact, most people in the south just mow them down. Unless you have some rare ones I wouldn't bother, people will be happy to share, and probably snicker behind your back because you want them! Welcome to the south!
