growing in house and planting outside

I had read on one of these forums that you could grow cannas as houseplants. I had dug up almost a hundred bulbs and planted eight of them in big pots the beginning of December. They are now up to six feet and seven feet tall.

They are nothing like when planted outside, the stems aren't real big and the leaves are green with a hint of red, not like when outside they were red awesome plants. I've had to straighten them with lathes. Anyway, what I would like to know is if these are planted in the ground in the spring, what will happen, or should I just keep them inside. I'm wondering if they will flower inside, they haven't yet, just keep growing more and more leaves which are pretty, but not as pretty as in the ground. Thanks.
