Mailing Temps for Cannas

I just have one question....I have a friend who is in Zone 9 who wants to mail me some of her cannas. I am in Zone 5 (upstate New York) and we are still knee deep in snow and cold weather! What temps would be suitable to mail cannas if sent priority? Any info would be appreciated.

Linda

They would probably be fine. I ordered Cannas last year in February. They had them packed in dry peat they arrived just fine.

I mailed some to my brother in Ohio about a month ago and they arrived just fine and it was snowing there at the time. I mailed them First Class.

They should be fine as long as they are not kept in the cold for any long extended period. When you get them, take them right in.
