Are my canna dead??

I realize I should have known better, but I planted my canna outside 2 weeks ago when temps where in the 80's. Last night it was 20!!! The cannas had sprouted, some about 8 inches. Now they are of course brown. Should I just assume they are dead, or is there a chance they will sprout again.

The sprouts are goners, but if the soil didn't freeze, the rhizomes may sprout additional shoots once it gets warm again. I would wait until a good long warm spell and see what happens - into June at least.
