As long as they are not mushy they should be fine. Dry tips are not a problem.

Many canna growers pot up the tubers and put them in a warm, sunny location several weeks prior to plant out. I put mine in large plastic bags with lightly moistened potting mix. This gives them a head start on the growing season.

Ok So I should put these guy in a ziplock baggie with some moist soil and let them start growing up? Should I make a few air holes. Or just open up the baggies once in awhile.

Yes, you can put them in pots or large ziplock bags. I find that bags take up less room when you have lots of rhizomes that you want to start. They are also easier to transport to/from the outdoors when hardening them off. You can add a few drainage holes in the bottom of the bags. Just be careful not to overwater when the temps are still cool.
