Last fall, I had a ton of "Robert Kemp". I got tired of digging them up, and I left a bunch in the ground. To my surprise, I have two "eyes" coming up this spring. I live in zone 5, north east Ohio. It has been mild, but we did have a couple of hard freezes. We didn't have much snow cover either. I know it's unusual, but has anyone else had them live this far north? Here is a pic of it coming up.

I found a couple of canna roots in the ground that I had missed last fall. They were dead, and mushy.

No, I have not had the good fortune of having them survive in the ground. That sure would make for a lot less work.
